The only time I had yellow squares showing up was in the really graphics intensive areas of gwen (ie burning forest) my game would slow down and objects would turn into yellow squares instead. I got a new graphics card and added another gig of ram and no problems since. (if that's out of budget try turning the graphics setting down low as it may help)

Maybe ask in the Techs Corner part of the forum? Thats for game issues too.

Moved to Tech Corner.
On to the subject: I'm guessing it's a problem with your graphics card. Have you tried with your account to see if the squares still show up?
You could also do a -image, or just completely reinstall GW.

Try doing a full image download for the dat file.
Shortcut should be as follows:
Code:
"%ProgramFiles%\Guild Wars\gw.exe" - image

why would you recommend a -image D/L for a probable artifact(ing) FX card.
-To op. try adj your Graphic settings...start at min. and work your way up.

Image was recommended because missing textures also show up as white or yellow boxes.

so instead of doing the most obvious (adjusting fx settings, resolution, defrag) you'd have the OP go thru possible hours of d/ling?
why not just -repair?

OK My brother is using a laptop with vista installed on it and two gig of ram installed if that helps he isnt using texmod at all and we have tried adjusting settings etc all to no avail I will try and get a screenshot of the squares when he next comes down and upload them onto here. It is like they are showing where someone has walked if that helps at all. Neither myself or my husband get the squares come up but we are using desktops so dont know if it is just where he is on a lappy. And it isnt because he is on vista as hubby uses that on his desktop.
Hope this extra info helps.
Sam
